What it actually does

Same workspace as the website. It just lives on your computer so you don’t have to keep a tab open all day.

  • Clock in from the menu bar

    Start and stop without hunting for a browser tab.

  • App tracking while you’re on

    Notes which app you’re in and adds it to your timecard when you clock out.

  • Messages

    Threads, emoji, GIFs, files — without switching windows.

  • Breaks

    Start one from the tray. On some computers, locking the screen starts one for you.

  • Screenshots, if your company uses them

    Admins turn this on per person. You can’t switch it off in the app.

  • Updates

    Checks for a new version when you open it, then asks you to restart.

Getting it running

    Download the installer

    We pick the one for this computer. The other two are right underneath if you need them.

    Sign in

    Use the same EDGE Sword account your admin already set up.

    Permissions on a Mac

    Accessibility and Screen Recording may pop up. Allow them — Meridian restarts itself after that.

Your company sets the rules

Screenshot timing, redaction, and speed tests live in EDGE Sword, not in this app. That’s on purpose — so every machine follows the same policy.

  • Screenshots on or off, and how often, per person
  • Optional hiding of personal info in those shots
  • Optional internet speed check when someone clocks out
  • Install email from the employee profile

Set in HR, not in the app

Changes show up the next time Meridian checks in. People using the app can’t override them.

A few install quirks

Mac

These builds aren’t signed yet, so macOS may say the app is damaged. Drag it to Applications, then run Install Meridian.command — that clears quarantine. Allow Accessibility and Screen Recording when asked.

Windows

Run the installer. If SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway. After that it sits in the system tray.

Linux

chmod +x the AppImage and run it. Clock-in works on Wayland; seeing the current app is more reliable on X11.
