The Calendar module in EDGE Sword helps your tenant plan meetings, deadlines, and follow-up tasks alongside CRM work. Events tied to leads, companies, and deals keep scheduling visible to everyone with the right permissions.
Access and permissions
Calendar access is governed by event read permissions:
| Permission | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Events read (own) | Individual contributors see their calendar |
| Events read | Managers and ops see team calendars |
| Events create / update | Schedule and edit events for self or others |
Enable the Calendar module under Settings → Modules before assigning calendar permissions to roles. See Configure your workspace for module setup.
Please note:
- Events read (own) limits users to their own calendar — managers who need team visibility require Events read (all).
- Scheduled meetings do not update Pulse until a matching interaction is logged after the meeting occurs.
Create an event
- Open Calendar from the Engagement group.
- Select a date or New event.
- Enter title, start/end time, location or video link, and attendees.
- Associate the event with a lead, company, or deal when the meeting is sales-related.
- Save — attendees with calendar access see the event on their view.
Tasks vs. calendar events
| Item | Best for | Record link |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar event | Meetings with a fixed time | Lead, company, deal |
| Task (from record or HR modules) | To-dos with due dates | Same entities plus internal work |
| Interaction (meeting type) | Logging a completed meeting | Timeline after the fact |
Schedule forward-looking work on the calendar; log completed conversations as Interactions so Pulse and timelines stay accurate.

Tips for distributed teams
- Set the workspace time zone under Configuration so event times display consistently.
- Use attendee fields to invite teammates who need context but are not the record owner.
- Review the weekly calendar view in standups to catch overdue follow-ups before leads go stale in Pulse.
- Pair calendar reminders with Workflows for automatic nudges when events pass without a logged interaction.
Calendar data respects tenant boundaries — users never see events from other workspaces even when permissions overlap at the organization level.
