Benefits (separate from Provident Fund) covers plans, coverage tiers, enrollments, and deduction types that can flow into payroll. Open HR → Benefits.
Please note:
- Enable the benefits module. PF stays under its own Payroll and tax / provident fund configuration.
- Optional monthly employee contributions on enrollments can feed payroll deduction setup.
- Enrollments also show on the employee profile Benefits tab.
- Open HR → Benefits → Plans & catalog
- Plans, coverage tiers, enrollments, deduction types
- Add a plan name and type
- Existing plans appear in the table (import may seed them)
Plans & catalog
Benefits → Plans & catalog maintains:
| Object | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Plans | Benefit products (medical, life, and so on) |
| Coverage tiers | Options within a plan (employee-only, family, …) |
| Deduction types | Labels/types used when contributions hit payroll |
Create plans and tiers before enrolling people. Imported catalogs (for example from BambooHR migrations) may already populate these lists.
Enrollments
Benefits → Enrollments (or Enroll… on an employee’s Benefits panel):
- Choose the employee
- Select plan and optional coverage tier
- Optionally set a monthly employee contribution amount
- Save — the enrollment appears on the employee profile and admin list
