Preferences under PERSONALIZATION controls how you see debit and credit columns in the Account Statement table. The setting is stored on your user profile and does not change how teammates view their statements.
Please note:
- This preference applies only to your account. Other users keep their own column layout.
- Toggling saves immediately — there is no separate Save button. A brief loading indicator appears while the preference syncs.
General ledger columns (bank as asset)
Open Settings → Preferences and use the General ledger columns (bank as asset) switch.
| Switch | Column convention | Typical labeling |
|---|---|---|
| Off (default) | Cash-flow | Expenses under Debit, income/deposits under Credit |
| On | General ledger (double-entry) | Money received under Debit, money paid out under Credit |
When enabled, a confirmation banner reads Ledger view active — receipts appear under Debit and payments under Credit, matching how a bank account is recorded as an asset on the books.
Finance teams often prefer ledger style for reconciliation; operators who think in cash in/out may keep the default.
Where it applies
The preference drives column order and headings on the Account Statement views in Finance — for example on the Expenses area when you open Account Statement. Exported PDF statements follow the same convention for your session. The underlying transactions come from Track expenses, Record payments and receipts, and bank accounts defined in Payment settings.
