When you sign up with industry Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, EDGE Sword pre-selects a distribution-focused module set — field sales, outlet accounts, warehouse stock, route logistics, and FMCG analytics — so your team can run van sales, modern trade, and wholesale routes from one workspace.
Please note:
- Industry defaults seed Settings → Modules; you can still add or remove capabilities after signup — see Enable and manage modules.
- Navigation and actions depend on enabled modules and assigned roles — align invites with Roles, permissions, and RBAC before go-live.
- Real-estate and hospitality tenants follow different defaults — compare Real estate workspace experience and Hospitality workspace experience, or start from Choose your industry.
Why FMCG
Fast-moving consumer goods teams move high SKU counts through tight delivery windows. Reps book orders on the road, warehouses pick against live stock, finance tracks credit and collections, and managers need route-level visibility — not a generic CRM alone.
EDGE Sword is built for that operating model:
- Catalog at scale — categories, images, and portal sync for thousands of SKUs
- Stacked carts — multi-line orders capped per route on high-velocity days
- Integrated commerce — commissions, invoicing, and payment tracking in the same tenant
- Field-to-warehouse handoff — orders, picking, vehicles, and live map on one timeline
- Distribution reporting — route coverage, SKU velocity, and distributor ledger views
From SKU catalogs with thousands of products to rep performance, EDGE Sword keeps distribution teams tight.

Day-to-day workflow
Orders and outlet accounts
Field reps and inside sales create orders against FMCG customer records — outlets, distributors, or route accounts with zone, beat, and credit metadata. Customer-specific price lists and active offers apply before an order confirms. Credit control and limits can warn or block new orders when exposure exceeds policy.
Orders entered from the Salesmen portal sync to the central workspace; trade buyers can also self-serve through the Customer portal when you expose orders and invoices there.
Picking and stock
Confirmed orders release to Picking and orders. Pick confirmation decrements Track stock and products at the configured location — investigate mismatches before dispatch. Batch picks by cutoff time or route wave to reduce aisle travel; partial picks may split an order when backorder rules allow.
Live map and logistics
After picks are confirmed, Logistics and live map assigns loads to vehicles and zones. The live map layer shows field team positions, backtrack trails, and outlet pins so dispatch and managers see coverage in near real time. Pair map visibility with Salesmen portal adoption so visit and order data reconcile on FMCG reporting.
Portals
| Portal | Primary users | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Salesmen portal | Field reps | Visit logging, stacked carts, territory-scoped orders |
| Customer portal | Trade buyers | Order status, invoices, support tickets |
Reps see only territory-scoped records; portal customers see only their company’s data — both follow RBAC, configured separately from the full CRM.
